A spectator at the New England Patriots’ game against the Miami Dolphins passed out Sunday night.

It was initially feared that the fan, whose identity is not currently known, went into cardiac arrest in the stands in Gillette Stadium, according to NFL Network host Bridget Condon.

Condon said that a firefighter, who happened to be a friend of her father, reportedly spotted the fan in distress and leapt into action administering life-saving CPR.

‘My parents are at the Patriots game with their friends and someone in their section just had a heart attack and my dad’s friend (also a firefighter) started giving him CPR and saved his life,’ Condon shared to X, formerly known as Twitter.

‘Forget the football. This is the best thing I’ve heard all day.’

However, the Patriots confirmed to that the spectator did not suffer a heart attack but did pass out.

They said that a fellow fan administered compressions but thankfully they were ultimately not needed.

Condon identified the two firefighters involved as Anthony Colella of Johnston RI Fire and Mark McCullough of Needham Fire.

The Patriots added that the fan ‘left the stadium awake and alert in an ambulance to a Boston hospital for observation.’

While it thankfully appears that a tragedy was avoided Sunday night, the firefighters’ quick action to administer CPR comes just nine months after Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest on the field during a Monday Night Football.
