French ‘Good Samaritan’ is accused of vile betrayal after he allegedly RAPED a woman who fell inside a Melbourne night club

Shocking new details have emerged over allegations a French man sexually assaulted a woman he pretended to help.
Adam Berguiga, 22, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday after being extradited from Sydney on Monday.
Police claim he had been partying at a nightclub in the CBD on New Year’s Eve when he saw a woman fall over on the dancefloor and proceeded to help her outside, where he sexually assaulted her.
Court documents released on Wednesday laid bare the full extent of that alleged sexual assault, accusing Berguiga of repeatedly raping the woman in a violent street attack.
It is alleged Berguiga had escorted the woman out of the venue and towards Coors Laneway early on Thursday morning.
The tiny laneway sits between Little Bourke and Lonsdale Streets.
Court documents allege Berguiga savagely assaulted the woman, causing bruises to her left shoulder and head, and grazing to her knees.
It was further alleged Berguiga kissed the woman during the alleged sexual assault.
Adam Berguiga has been charged with multiple counts of rape and related assault and driving offences
Police claim Berguiga had got into the city behind the wheel of a car despite having no licence to drive.
The Frenchman made no application for bail and will be remanded in custody until his next court appearance in April.
The court heard Berguiga could not speak a word of English and had never been behind bars before.
Police had issued an arrest warrant for Berguiga at 9.30pm on Saturday.
CCTV footage and composite images were also released in the hope someone might spot the suspect.
Berguiga was quickly recognised by authorities as he allegedly tried to leave the country.
He was arrested at Sydney’s international airport terminal around midday on Sunday and brought back to Victoria to face justice.
The court heard he was to be given access to a mental health professional while behind bars and would be ‘vulnerable’ in jail.
