An emergency room nurse has revealed the top four things that you should never do as an adult – and some of them may have you re-thinking how you drive on road trips.
The crucial information was shared by content creator Stephanie Jackson in a new video that has already garnered over 500,000 views.
Jackson began her video by explaining that you never want to use a mandolin without a hand guard.
Mandolins are kitchen tools that are usually used for slicing vegetables, like cucumbers.
‘Do you know how many sliced fingers or impartial amputations I have seen in the ER?’ Jackson told the audience.
‘Use the guard, they are there for a reason,’ she urged.
The next tip that Jackson shared was to never ride in a car with your feet on the dashboard.
She shared a picture of what can happen when you do – as it resulted in a totally dislocated hip for one patient.

According to CBS News, it’s also possible to break your leg, ankle, and femur if you get into a wreck and your feet are on the dashboard.
On a similar note, Jackson also urged viewers to never wear a claw hair clip in their hair while driving, or as a passenger in a moving vehicle.
‘If you get into an accident, I have actually had to pull out chunks of the claws out of people’s skulls,’ she shared.
And saving the best for last, Jackson shared the ‘number one thing’ that she wouldn’t do as an adult would be riding in a car while having a full bladder.
‘I have seen those things rupture, don’t do that,’ she urged.
And it’s true – according to the Urology Care Foundation, car crashes can injure the bladder.
However, the foundation noted that you can help prevent this by always wearing a seatbelt in the car, and putting it around your belly area.
In the comments section of Jackson’s video, many people seemed to agree with her, with some users even offering their own tips and pointers.

‘Yep, missing half of my right thumb print because I used a mandolin without the guard over 30 years ago,’ one person lamented.
Another typed, ‘I second all of this! As a teenager my dad (a paramedic) had a strict no feet on the dash rule. Now I’m an ER nurse and I get it now.’
‘As a professional chef of over 20 years – ALWAYS use the mandolin guard like she says. We have a habit of not using it in kitchens and every one of us has paid the price for it and use super glue to close the cuts, it’s not fun,’ someone else wrote.
A user suggested, ‘I don’t like to write or do things like knit in the car because if you crash you might stab yourself.’
‘To add to the mandolin slicer… please stop slicing avocados in your hand!’ someone else urged.
