Mohassab: President Sisi’s decisions expand the umbrella of social protection and reduce the burdens on citizens

Dr. Ayman Mohseb, member of the House of Representatives and rapporteur of the Investment Priorities Committee in the National Dialogue, praised the decisions issued by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to ease the burden of living on citizens, which includes the largest urgent social package for social protection, to be implemented as of next month.

 

  Mohsab said that President Sisi directed the government to take a package of urgent social measures to support citizens and ease the burdens on them, which includes raising the minimum wage by 50%, to reach 6 thousand pounds per month, and allocating 6 billion pounds to employ 120,000 members of the professions. Medical, teachers, and workers in other administrative bodies, and by increasing the wages of workers in the state and economic bodies, with a minimum ranging from 1,000 to 1,200 pounds per month, depending on the job grade, and raising the tax exemption limit for all state workers in the government and the public and private sectors by 33%, from 45,000 pounds to 60,000 pounds. In addition to a 15% increase in pensions for 13 million citizens, at a total cost of 74 billion pounds, and a 15% increase in “Solidarity and Dignity” pensions. At a cost of 5.5 billion pounds, the increase during the year will be 55% of the value of the pension, with 41 billion pounds being allocated to “Solidarity and Dignity” pensions. In the fiscal year 2024/2025.

 

The member of the House of Representatives stressed that the president’s decisions are historic and humanitarian, confirming the president’s bias towards citizens and supporting pensioners, and contributing to expanding the umbrella of social protection programs, stressing The political leadership always feels for the citizens and makes every possible effort to mitigate the effects of the global economic crises and reduce the burden of living on the citizens. He thanked and greeted President Sisi, and called on the government to quickly implement the presidential directives.
