NFL fans stunned to learn who the girlfriend of $43m Patriots star Will Campbell is related to
Despite having been in a relationship for a number of years, fans have been stunned after learning that New England Patriots rookie offensive lineman Will Campbell is dating the sister of a former teammate.
Campbell, who became a star at LSU, was picked fourth overall by the Patriots to improve their blocking and signed a four-year, $43.66m rookie contract.
But while he was playing down in Baton Rouge, Campbell began dating Ashlynn Nussmeier – the sister of Garrett Nussmeier, LSU’s quarterback.
The couple went public in September of 2024 with a post to Instagram.
Campbell had been pass-blocking for Garrett for three seasons between 2022 and 2024. Over that time, the lineman met Ashlynn through his quarterback.
‘She’s amazing,’ Campbell told Us Weekly. ‘She has a football background, so she knows what it takes, the sacrifices that have to be made.

‘If she wasn’t as good with that type of stuff, I’m sure it would be a lot more difficult. But she’s a rock star.’
Still, fans discovered the news seemingly for the first time and reacted to it on social media.
‘Tbf if there’s anyone you want your sister to date it’s the big friendly offensive lineman,’ one user on X commented.
Another said, ‘I’m sure Garrett trusts Will to protect her just as good as he protected him on the field.’
‘I mean if any of my friends were gonna date my sister I’d rather it be the man I trust with my physical health every time I step on a football field,’ a third commenter posted.
Since leaving Baton Rouge for Foxborough, Campbell has been one of the key reasons why Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has been dominating.
The second-year signal caller has had an MVP-caliber season. Maye has thrown for 2,555 yards, 19 touchdowns and only five interceptions.
