Former footy star Glenn Lazarus is selling the spectacular Brisbane home that he built 30 years ago – and is looking at offers over $2.15million.
Located in Mount Ommaney, the five-bedroom, three-bathroom home sits on a huge 2,461sq m block.
Lazarus, a five-time NRL premiership winner, purchased the land across the road from coaching great Wayne Bennett – and close by former teammates Allan Langer, Kevin Walters and Wendell Sailor.
‘It is in a magnificent spot hidden away from the world,’ Lazarus told News Corp.
‘Being in the public eye and always so busy, it was such a great oasis to get home to and relax in. I could literally switch off the world once I got home.

‘I am very saddened by the sale. We built the home and lived there for nearly 30 years. We brought up our three wonderful children there, and it holds many special memories for us.
‘We love the city of Brisbane and thoroughly enjoyed the 30-plus years we lived there.
‘Now, our lives have turned full circle after so many years. We moved back to Canberra to be with family, where my sporting career all started.’
The footy legend explained that he originally decided to come to the Broncos because of the friendship he had built with Kevin Walters while playing in Canberra.
‘I also got to know and became good friends with Chris Johns, Allan Langer, Kerrod Walters and Michael Hancock while playing on the 1990 Kangaroo tour. It made the move from Canberra to Brisbane really special,’ he said.
‘Mount Ommaney became Broncos central. Gene Miles, Kevin Walters, Allan Langer, Wendell Sailor, and Broncos staff all lived or ended up living in the area, and of course, Wayne Bennett lived across the road.
‘When I look back, I think My 30th birthday party was pretty iconic – everyone in the western suburbs, including across the river, got to enjoy my surprise fireworks.
‘My absolute favourite memory is being with Tess and our three children, enjoying wonderful moments such as birthday parties on the tennis court with clowns, teaching the kids how to swim in the pool and celebrating Christmas on the balcony. Those memories are things Tess and I both cherish.’

Lazarus and his wife hope another family can now enjoy the property as much as they did.
‘We celebrated many grand finals, State of Origin games, and Australian Kangaroo wins and raised three wonderful children,’ they said.
