Saudi Foreign Minister: The aid provided by the King Salman Relief Center amounted to more than $6 billion for the benefit of 91 countries.

The Kingdom, in which the Kingdom’s belief in working with a joint, integrated approach to reach development, prosperity and stability was confirmed.

His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs explained that the humanitarian aid provided by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, since its establishment in 2015, amounted to more than $6 billion in humanitarian aid, for the benefit of 91 countries, and the Saudi Fund for Development also contributed more than $18 billion to finance more than 700 development projects in 85 countries, targeting sectors such as social infrastructure, transportation and agriculture.

His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of investing in clean energy technology, which will facilitate a fair and comprehensive transition to clean energy, as the Kingdom works within the framework of the circular carbon economy that contributes to reducing carbon emissions.

He stressed the importance of strengthening international cooperation, which is an essential enabling factor for achieving global climate goals, especially in the field of innovation, research and development, to promote clean energy technologies and achieve net-zero emissions ambitions, noting that the Kingdom views sustainability as a driving force for growth and progress, and strives to integrate aspects Economic, social and environmental development initiatives.

His Highness said: “The Kingdom shares with the countries of the world the challenges they face in achieving the sustainable development goals, including environmental challenges. The Kingdom is working in this direction through several initiatives, including the Green Middle East Initiative and the Green Saudi Arabia Initiative, which contribute to achieving global goals to combat climate change, as well as The Kingdom’s announcement of its establishment of a global water organization aims to develop and integrate the efforts of countries and organizations to ensure the sustainability of water resources, to enhance access for all in order to address water challenges in a comprehensive manner.

His Highness added: “The Kingdom is making all efforts within the framework of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, and is working within Vision 2030 to protect lands and natural resources, and avoid the causes of land degradation and desertification. The Kingdom is looking forward to hosting the member states in the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification in Riyadh in the year.” “Next.”

The Kingdom’s delegation participating in the summit included the Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Cuba, Faisal Al-Harbi, and the Director-General of the Office of His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdul Rahman Al-Daoud.
