Terrifying moment 'XL bully' mauls boy, 10, as locals try to fight the animal off

This is the terrifying moment a dog – thought to be an XL bully’ mauls a 10-year-old boy in a street, as locals try and fight the animal off.
The boy is seen walking on a housing estate in Blackburn on Saturday when the large dog appears from around the corner, causing the child to hide behind an adult.
One man can be seeing trying to pry open the dog’s mouth to free the youngster while another then runs off to seek extra support.
The boy was taken to hospital for treatment, but no details have been released about the nature or severity of his injuries.
A 27-year-old man from Blackburn was arrested and has since been released on bail.
Video footage shared on social media showed the child and an adult walking down Cedar Street in Blackburn at around 12.20pm.
As they approached a junction near a local mosque, the boy quickly turns around and moves closer to the adult before a dog runs towards them and latches on to his coat.
Lancashire Constabulary were alerted at 12.30pm to report a boy had been bitten by a dog and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
