The Ashes LIVE: Big question mark hangs over Usman Khawaja as he plays his last match with England on the verge of defeat

More bad news for Ben Stokes

The skipper cut a forlorn figure yesterday, hobbling off with an injured groin with two deliveries left in his first over.

There was doubt over whether he’d be able to bat, but he emerged – further down the order than usual – and didn’t look his usual, defiant self as he got out for one to Beau Webster (pictured, top).

So, will the pick of England’s bowlers be able to sling a few down today? Jacob Bethell doesn’t think so.

‘He’s moving pretty gingerly,’ Bethell said after stumps.

‘When he was out in the middle, he said he’d just be walking them.

‘I don’t think that bodes too well for him bowling tomorrow.’
