The Emirates Red Crescent Authority expands the scope of its operations in Libya
The Emirates Red Crescent Authority has expanded the scope of its relief operations and humanitarian programs for those affected by the hurricane, torrents and floods in Libya.
The Authority provided more assistance, which included food and shelter materials, health packages, first aid supplies, and other necessary needs, to thousands of survivors and displaced people in a number of areas in eastern Libya.
The Authority’s delegation, currently in the Libyan arena, continues its humanitarian efforts to limit the repercussions of the disaster and provide greater care for those affected by distributing more aid to them and meeting their necessary needs at the present time.
The delegation held a series of meetings with the Libyan Red Crescent Society and the competent authorities to coordinate the aid process on the ground, and work together to reach the areas that are still facing logistical complications due to the significant damage to them and their infrastructure.
In addition, the Emirates Red Crescent Authority continues to send relief shipments from Abu Dhabi to Libya via the Emirates Air Bridge, and the Authority’s warehouses in Abu Dhabi and Dubai are witnessing a continuous movement to collect and prepare food and health parcels and relief and shelter materials in preparation for sending them to our brothers in Libya.
The Authority confirmed that its relief operations and humanitarian programs will continue until the plight of the hurricane resolves, and that it will spare no effort in doing so, based on its responsibility towards those affected, and in commitment to its global humanitarian principles.
