Tunisia and France are discussing cooperation to confront the negative repercussions of climate change

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, discussed, on Tuesday, with the French government’s representative for the Mediterranean, Karim Amal, ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries. To confront the negative repercussions of climate change on the countries of the Mediterranean region, which harm vital sectors of the economy and deepen the phenomenon of migration among vulnerable social groups.

The Tunisian Foreign Minister met with the French government representative for the Mediterranean on the sidelines of his participation in the activities of the fifth session of the Mediterranean Water Forum, according to a statement by the Tunisian Foreign Ministry.

For his part, the French official confirmed that the Maghreb Finance Fund, which was created by the French government and allocated a budget estimated at 100 million euros; It will enable the establishment of a new partnership between the relevant Tunisian and French institutions.
