
A woman has been struck with a machete after being confronted by three men in a violent attempted carjacking.
The woman, 29, was refuelling at a service station on the Princes Highway near Potter St in Dandenong, south-east Melbourne, when a white Ford SUV pulled up behind her about 6.35pm on Sunday.
As she returned to her car from paying in the store, three men approached and tried to steal her keys.
It’s understood one of the men initially demanded the keys before attempting to snatch them.
The woman resisted, before one of them struck her in the arm with a machete, before they fled the scene.
The SUV had no number plates.
‘Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a violent attempted carjacking in Dandenong,’ Victoria Police said in a statement.

‘Investigations into the incident remain ongoing.’
The woman was taken hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
