The Picture of Dorian Gray Gets Limited-Edition Scentbird Perfume

The fragrance subscription brand Scentbird has partnered with the Broadway play “The Picture of Dorian Gray” on a limited-edition perfume capsule collection inspired by the Sarah Snook-led production, which earned the “Succession”actor her first Tony award on Sunday night.

The capsule collection, now available to shop on Scentbird, includes: Libertine by The Maker, Dos Mil Años by Eauso Vert, Nosferatu by Heretic, Fatale Rose by Philipp Plein, Role Play by Malo, Passion by Onno, Black Magenta by DS & Durga, After Hours by Antica Farmacista, Blue Talisman by Ex Nihilo and Duke by Harlem Perfume Co.

Maker by Libertine is an aromatic citrus fragrance featuring notes of awakening pomelo, uninhibited hibiscus and provocative Virginia cedarwood,” according to their website. A sample-size .27 oz. vial, which retails for $16.95, is now featured on Scentbird’s catalogue, with monthly subscriptions currently 50% off. You can also purchase a standalone 1.5 ml vial for $4.95 on Scentbird.

So, how does Scentbird work? You first pick a scent from the subscription brand’s sprawling catalogue of perfumes. Once you activate your subscription, you’ll receive 8 ml (roughly 120 sprays each) of the fragrance of your choosing, dressed in a sleek, refillable case. Plus, they throw in a free fragrance case with your first order.

The Dorian Gray perfume is one of may limited-edition pop-culture fragrances to come out in recent years. Most recently, Heretic released a “Nosferatu” scent, a chilling fragrance inspired by the eponymous vampire at the center of the the Lily Rose-Depp adaptation.

Snook won the Tony for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role of a Play for her role in the one-woman show. In the play, based on the 1891 novel by Oscar Wilde, Snook plays 26 characters in the solo production. After launching in Sydney in 2020 – extended twice due to demand and toured nationally – the show moved to the West End in 2024 where Snook won a 2024 Olivier Award for Best Actress and finally Broadway where it made its debut this past March.
