Kellyville house is sprayed with bullets in early morning shooting – as getaway car is found torched nearby

A suburban home was sprayed with bullets while a family slept inside.

NSW Police were called to Janamba Avenue in Kellyville, north-west Sydney, shortly after 3am on Tuesday following reports that up to six shots had been fired into a window of the home.

A man and woman aged in their 30s and a two-year-old toddler were inside sleeping at the time but were unharmed.

Bullets caused damage to the front door and windows of the home.

Firefighters were called to nearby Gorman Avenue in the same suburb, 2.1km away, a short time later after an abandoned car was spotted on fire.

The car was destroyed in the blaze.

The fire is being treated as suspicious.

Detectives are investigating whether the fire is linked to the earlier drive-by shooting.
