Caitlin Clark remains injured for the Indiana Fever, but that isn’t stopping WNBA fans from making her the center of the league’s latest controversy.
This time the Indiana Fever star’s rating on the popular video game NBA2K is at issue.
At a 96 out of 99, Clark ranks fourth in the game behind veterans such as Minnesota’s Napheesa Collier (98), Las Vegas’ A’Ja Wilson and New York’s Breanna Stewart.
And depending on who’s being asked, that 96 rating is either laughably too high or laughably too low for the reigning Rookie of the Year.
‘None of these should be in the 90s except Clark,’ one fan wrote on X.
Many felt Clark should have graced the cover of the game, which instead has Chicago’s Angel Reese and reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander out front. But for all of her fans, many WNBA devotees couldn’t help but acknowledge her struggles in 2025.

Limited to just 13 games by groin problems, Clark’s scoring is now to just 16.5 points a game and she’s shooting under 28 percent from the field — both well below her rookie numbers.
As a result, many respondents felt that Clark’s 96 rating was too high.
‘Y’all got Clark just one point behind Stewie and A’ja. What are we doing here,’ one critic wrote, referring to two dominant league stars who have multiple MVP awards and WNBA titles.
‘Clark being so high while having a horrible year and being hurt most of it is diabolical,’ another wrote.. ‘Subtract at least 10 from her overall.’
Several fans took issue with New York guard and Kobe Bryant pupil Sabrina Ionescu getting a slightly lower rating than Clark, who trails the former Oregon star in nearly every meaningful category, including championships.

Despite Clark’s injury problems, the Fever are slightly improved this season at 18-15 and are challenging for a second straight playoff spot.
She will miss her 12th straight game Friday night when the Fever host the Washington Mystics.
But Clark’s rating wasn’t the only source of controversy for the 2K brand. Reese’s 90 overall rating also rankled some of her critics.
‘Angel Reese being a 90 is one of the craziest ratings I’ve ever seen in a sports video game,’ wrote one critic.
Reese currently leads the league in rebounding at 12.6 per game. Wilson, her nearest competitor, is averaging 9.8 per game.
