TikTok Is Losing It Over KJ Apa’s Hilarious Alter Ego Mr Fantasy, But Is It Actually Him?
In yet another bizarre addition to internet lore, fans are convinced Riverdale star KJ Apa is running a spoof TikTok account in which he sports a wig, buck teeth and a British accent.

Yes, you read that right — the rapidly growing TikTok profile @iamtherealmrfantasy is currently overrunning the FYP, but fans of Riverdale might think Mr Fantasy looks a little familiar.
For reasons not yet known, it appears Apa — who is from New Zealand — has created an alter ego, Mr Fantasy, and launched a dedicated TikTok profile for the character.
Over the past few weeks, the actor has been sharing various clips in which he deepens the lore of Mr Fantasy, who is an aspiring Hollywood star, presumably from Britain, with plans to drop music soon.
In one clip, Apa/Fantasy takes a trip to the Hollywood sign, while another sees him thanking his fans and teasing the release of a new single.
Apa has not yet officially confirmed whether it is actually him behind the profile, but barring the fuck-ass bob and buckier than buck teeth, the pair do share a striking resemblance.
There’s also the fact that, as some users have pointed out, Fantasy has the exact same tattoos as Apa, including the patterned design on his shoulder.
Naturally, the stunt has caused widespread confusion, with scores of TikTokers flocking to Fantasy’s comments to check if they’re awake and haven’t just dreamt this whole escapade.
“I’m SO confused if this is KJ Apa or not,” one user wrote, while another quipped that “he is scaring me”.
While we can pretty confidently establish that Fantasy is in fact Apa, what’s far less clear is the reason behind the actor’s TikTok stunt.
In other words, why in god’s green fuck is he doing this?
Some have theorised Apa is getting into character for an upcoming role, or suggested the account is to generate some kind of promotional buzz for a new project.
Perhaps the most straightforward answer is that Apa is simply having fun inhabiting a hilarious alter ego, and leaving us equal parts confused and amused as a result.
Longtime fans of Apa, who more recently starred opposite Madelyn Cline in The Map That Leads to You, will know that he is no stranger to hilarity online, with his other TikTok account @fifiisqueen home to plenty of skit-like clips.
