Bangladesh DGFI team covertly visits Pakistan to strengthen ties with ISI to counter India

Bangladesh’s military intelligence agency Directorate General of Forces Intelligence is seeking to strengthen ties with its Pakistani counterpart Inter-Services Intelligence to counter India across the South Asian region, according to people familiar with the matter. A DGFI delegation is currently on a covert visit to Pakistan for the purpose, they said.

Upon arrival at a Pakistani airport, the members of the delegation received new passports containing fresh identities and separate personal information, as per the people. No immigration procedures were conducted either in Dhaka, when the team was leaving, or upon their arrival in Pakistan, they said.

Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami’s Syeed Abdullah Muhammad Taher, who is accompanying interim regime chief Muhammad Yunus on his visit to UNGA, threatened that ‘Bangladesh can invade India after being voted to power’.
