The Block fans have been thrown into a tizzy over the fiery confrontation between Queensland couple Sonny and Alicia, and Western Australian duo Britt and Taz, which stemmed from a completed subframe and “snide” comments.

While The Block is known for its spectacular home renovations and teamwork, this year’s season has been delivering on the drama. From cheating scandals to relationship blowups, it’s been quite intense.

To give you a quick recap, Britt and Taz were forbidden from working on their deck at the start of Alfresco and Shed Week because they finished up their subframe last week. However, with Statco’s work on-site yesterday, no one was able to start working on their decks, which left the other teams feeling like their punishment was inadequate.

So, to “level the playing field”, the teams — minus the Britt and Taz — decided to hold a body corporate meeting to discuss their grievances, as well as demand that the WA duo halt working on their decks until everyone else had caught up.

Returning from their winner’s night away, Britt and Taz were pulled into the ambush meeting where Sonny and Alicia took on the reins of airing out the group’s grievances, proposing that the WA pair shouldn’t continue working on their deck until everyone else had caught up. However, while Alicia claimed that the punishment wasn’t personal, Britt and Taz felt some kind of way.

Especially Britt, who claimed Alicia had made a series of “snide” comments during Monday’s Open For Inspections, which set Alicia off.

“It’s just how you deliver things, you don’t deliver them in the best way,” Britt clapped back to Alicia, who responded, “I didn’t deliver anything to you yesterday”.

“It’s how you say things,” Britt continued.

After a fiery back-and-forth in front of the group, the pair agreed to the punishment — which some fans hoped they wouldn’t take.

But before the WA cops could return to their work site, Alicia asked Britt to have a chat about her claims about the “snide” comments she’s made.

Initially, Britt didn’t want to talk it out, but eventually caved to Alicia’s request, resulting in a very, very heated discussion.

During the tense conversation, Sonny confessed that he was rude. However, Alicia lashed out at the WA couple.

“Don’t you dare and I will not allow you to throw me under the bus, that I’ve been a nasty bitch because I’ve done nothing but take care of you,” Alicia said, before Britt reiterated it was not what was said, but how she said the comments.

While the teams were able to hash it out, it’s evident that the damage had been done to their friendship.

“Today really made us realise, ‘Are we going to be friends with these people when we leave?’ Our friends wouldn’t do this to us,” Britt shared.

The Block fans react to the Shed Week body corporation meeting

Viewers came out swinging following the heated confrontation, with many voicing their frustration with Sonny and Alicia. Some even shared when the QLD pair made the “snide” comments, which were actually shared via a quick cutaway, flashback scene on Tuesday’s episode.

Here’s what fans had to say about that body corporation meeting.

While most viewers had a bone to pick with how Sonny and Alicia handled the meeting, some fans called out the rest of the group for remaining tight-lipped despite having a lot to say in Monday night’s episode.

Britt and Taz defend Sonny and Alicia from online trolls

Despite their on-screen confrontations, Britt and Taz have defended their fellow Block 2025 competitors, who’ve become the target of online trolls and scathing comments from viewers.

“We absolutely do not condone any comments from trolls and stuff like that,” Taz told Yahoo! Lifestyle.

“We deal with mental health on a daily basis with our work, and cyberbullying and trolling is one of the very, very big excesses on mental health.

“It just absolutely takes a toll and deteriorates people, so we do not condone any of that. So we do feel for Han and Can, and we do feel for Sonny and Alicia, who are copping the brunt of it.”

Last week, speaking to Yahoo! Lifestyle, Alicia admitted that it’s been “tough” dealing with the online messages they’ve received since appearing on the beloved home renovations show.

“I think because I’m a stronger personality who’s not afraid to voice how I feel, rather than shutting it down and just pretending and talking about things behind people’s backs or just not saying it at all, I feel like the trolls feel like that that’s okay, that they can just come and say whatever they want to me and think that I’m this nasty person when I’m not. I’m not a nasty person,” Alicia shared with the publication.

Recently, The Block‘s social media account reshared a “social induction”, reminding viewers to be kind to castmates who are, at the end of the day, just regular people.
