Balcony collapse horror near University of Cincinnati as students plunge from 3rd floor while celebrating exam

Ten people were injured after a third-floor balcony collapsed at an apartment building near the University of Cincinnati Friday night. 

One person was critically injured.

Students were celebrating the end of the end of a big exam when the terrifying collapse occurred around 10pm.

The balcony was 20 feet above the parking lot when it broke off the side of the building.

One person has said to have ‘life-threatening’ injuries, while five others were in serious condition.

Remaining victims suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the collapse is under investigation. None of the victims have been identified but some are believed to be students. 

The apartment building is not campus-affiliated, but still houses many students.

Cincinnati Fire Department had more than 20 units respond to the collapse, according to WKRC.

A representative for the Cincinnati Fire Department told the New York Times that university housing services and grief counseling had been made available to assist the victims.
