Last night’s The Golden Bachelor Australia was an absolute doozy of an episode, featuring not one, but TWO eliminations, the confirmation of a spicy internet theory, and Abbie Chatfield grilling Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden. Let’s get into it, shall we?

In the ep, scene-stealer Samantha Armytage introduces Abbie to the hunky leading lad, and our Gemini queen did her daughter duty and sussed the bloke out.
“I do wonder if I can imagine Bear doing karaoke at our Christmases…” the 30-year-old asked in her piece to camera. A very important question!
She then asked: “Have you gone on a date with her yet?”, who revealed that he hadn’t.
“Why haven’t you gone on a date with her yet?” she added with suspicion.
“Still lots of time…” Bear replied.
But alas, there was not.
In the end, Abbie’s mum Laura Gunner was not given a rose, but left with her head held high.
In her exit interview, Laura said: “I’m not that type of woman who pushes other people out of the way, I don’t do that… Fight people off? Not really me”.
Which, to be fair, is accurate. Unlike other contestants, Laura did not get down and dirty on the show, instead keeping things classy and dignified.
Laura’s exit confirmed a theory that was raised earlier in the week that the fan fave does not remain in the show much longer, after pap pics showed all contestants at an upcoming group date, except for Laura.
In the pictures, contestants were seen heading off on an overnight stay, where they were partnered up for a camping trip to test their sense of adventure.
The pairs included Catherine and Lauren, Elizete and Pip, Bianca and Gera, Jan and Janette, Kim and Shamse, and Terri, who was instead paired with a crew member.
However, Abbie Chatfield’s mum was nowhere to be seen, and we now know why!
