NFL trade deadline LIVE: All the deals, rumors and news ahead of today’s deadline

With the deadline at a crawl, teams may be trying to sus out who is on the block. The father of one of the Chicago Bears young stars is hoping that his son gets traded next.

It’s just a matter of time before the deals start going through, but apparently there’s boots on the ground in Seattle and Denver

Despite the Logan Wilson trade earlier this morning, the Cowboys are not expected to be contenders any time soon.

Franchise legend Troy Aikman expressed that belief in the middle of Monday Night Football.

With many teams looking to tank this season, this is currently where things stand for the NFL Draft.

6. Cleveland Browns (2-6)

7. Las Vegas Raiders (2-6)

8. Cincinnati Bengals (3-6)

9. Washington Commanders (3-6)

10. Baltimore Ravens (3-5)

Among the teams who are under the “buy-now” category, many of them have a double-digit number of picks to move.

Take the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles: GM Howie Roseman gave up a third-round pick for Jaelan Phillips from Miami. He still has two other third-round picks and ten picks in total.

The Los Angeles Rams also have ten picks, including two first-rounders which could help them acquire a new offensive lineman if they’re able to work out a deal.

New England also has ten picks, but most of them are in late rounds (two fourths, a fifth, two sixths, and two sevenths).

But the most gluttonous team in the draft this year is Pittsburgh: a first, a second, three thirds, two fourths, a fifth, three sixths and a seventh. That could go a long way in getting pass catcher help for Aaron Rodgers.

The Baltimore Ravens added some pass rushing help by acquiring Tennessee Titans edge Dre’Mont Jones in exchange for a conditional 2026 fifth-round pick.

The New Orleans Saints. If GM Mickey Loomis is smart, he will trade (at minimum) one of Rashid Shaheed, Brandin Cooks, or Chris Olave for a decent return.

The Miami Dolphins just fired general manager Chris Grier, so the waters on any potential moves are murky at the moment. However, they have pass rushers (Bradley Chubb and Matthew Judon) they could move. Plus, as mentioned below, the possibility of moving Jaylen Waddle is intriguing.

The New York Jets have ample defensive line trade candidates and it’d be shocking if they all stayed put.

In such a wide-receiver heavy market (as explained below), teams who need catching help will likely make a move. In that regard, look to the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers to get something done.

On the defensive side of the ball, look to the Patriots as well as the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, and Indianapolis Colts to bulk up their pass rush.

The Colts may also be in for a cornerback, as will the Niners, Bears, and Green Bay Packers.

You get a pass rusher, and you get a pass rusher, and you get a pass rusher…

Defensive line and Edge is the key this deadline.

Let’s go rapid fire: Quinnen Williams (NYJ), Trey Hendrickson (CIN), Arden Key (TEN), Bradley Chubb (MIA), Kingsley Enagbare (GB), Mazi Smith (DAL), Chauncey Golston (NYG). You could also see the Jets move Jermaine Johnson II, but that would be one of the biggest moves of the day.

Defensive secondary also seems to be a hot-button topic. Cornerbacks Tariq Woolen (SEA) and Cam Taylor-Britt (CIN) are the biggest names among the possible CB’s while for safeties, look to Tony Adams (NYJ), Minkah Fitzpatrick (MIA) and Rayshawn Jenkins (CLE).

If anything, the biggest moves made will likely be at wide receiver.

For anyone hoping for a big quarterback move, you’d essentially have to hope that Atlanta’s Kirk Cousins waives his no trade clause. Even then, with the way he’s been playing, can we even consider that a “big quarterback move” anymore?

Instead, look to the pass catchers. Top trade targets at WR include Calvin Ridley (TEN), DJ Moore (CHI), Jakobi Meyers (LV) and Rashid Shaheed (NO) among others. Those are the most likely, but we’d really be in for it if Chris Olave (NO), Jaylen Waddle (MIA), AJ Brown (PHI) or Brian Thomas Jr (JAX) somehow got moved.

FOR CINCINNATI: Wilson had seemingly been passed on the depth chart by Barrett Carter as well as Demetrius Knight. With Wilson spending plenty of time on the bench and earning an AAV of $9million a year, the Bengals can clear some cap space.

FOR DALLAS: The Cowboys have the second-worst total defense and scoring defense in the league. Adding one player will not help with that. However, Wilson does have two years remaining on his deal. Last season, he had 104 tackles in 11 games before an injury. The year prior, a fully healthy season, he totaled 135. Wilson could be a good pick up for the long-haul in Dallas – even if many fans want the team to consider a tank.

Just before 7:30am, as the sun was kissing the Atlantic coast, Jerry Jones confirmed a trade for his Cowboys.

Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson is off to Dallas in exchange for a seventh.
