Russia offers the Sukhoi Su-57 “Felion” to Iran and Ethiopia

Arab Defense Website – November 14, 2025: Moscow is trying to revive international interest in its advanced Su-57 fighter ahead of the 2025 Dubai Airshow, while allegations are being raised that leaked documents reveal plans to export the aircraft to Iran, Algeria and Ethiopia.

Site mentioned Defence Blog Russia is seeking to renew interest in this advanced fighter by publishing a new promotional film showcasing the internal weapons compartment and the air-to-air missiles it carries. The video was published by United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), a subsidiary of the Rostec State Military-Industrial Complex, before the start of the Dubai Airshow 2025.

Rostec said in a statement: “New Su-57 aircraft have been entered into service, and the upgraded versions will receive improved weapon systems and engines.”

Focus on reducing radar signature

The video shows the placement of weapons bays inside the airframe, a design intended to reduce radar signature similar to other fifth-generation fighters.

The Su-57 appears in the footage flying with the weapons hatches half-open, in a scene that highlights the missiles loaded inside the internal weapon compartment.

According to Rostec, the aim is to highlight the aircraft’s ability to carry precision munitions inside the structure without increasing the possibility of them being detected by radar.

The company confirmed that the fighter is undergoing a continuous modernization process, without providing a timetable for the new development stages.

Leaks about export plans

At the same time, a hacker group calling itself Black Mirror published what it said were leaked internal documents from Rostec. The materials, published on October 3, allegedly reveal plans to export the Su-57 to Iran, Algeria and Ethiopia.

According to the group, the documents include more than 300 files, including correspondence, presentations, and contracts related to defense cooperation, logistics, and methods for circumventing sanctions.

The authenticity of these materials has not yet been verified, but several analysts confirm that their content is consistent with previous reports regarding Russian talks with foreign defense ministries.

It also appears that these files are consistent with previous indications that Moscow is seeking to find new buyers for its advanced fighters, despite the pressures its military industry is exposed to due to the war.

Leading Kremlin plane

The leaked video and documents confirm that Russia is still promoting the Su-57 as a strategic project that symbolizes the status of its aviation industry.

Although the fighter is classified among the most advanced aircraft, the pace of its production is still low, and the number of operational aircraft is limited.

However, Rostec stresses that new aircraft are constantly entering service, and that subsequent modernizations will make the Su-57 more competitive in global markets.
