Woman jumps into tourist hot spot’s E.coli-riddled river in bid to find her phone using her FEET
A woman was caught on a viral video swimming in a dirty river after dropping her phone while joking, ‘I’m gonna be famous on TikTok.’
The San Antonio River Walk is a tourist hotspot in Texas, famous for its European architecture and cruise tours, but officials have prohibited visitors from wading in the water over health and safety concerns.
The TikTok video, shared by the account @doskogirl, captured the shocking moment the unidentified woman suspended herself into the river and began searching for the phone with her bare feet.
The woman told her friends that she would ‘feel around with her feet’ before taking off her shoes and rolling up her white sweatpants.
She carefully climbed down the cement wall into the murky green water and began to walk around slowly as boat passengers tried to direct her.
Others stood on the cement wall and watched as she desperately tried to find her submerged phone.
The crowd cheered as she fished out a flat square object, but the woman screamed, ‘It’s just a frickin’ brick!’
The TikToker who shared the video added in the caption: ‘We watched this lady search for her phone in the San Antonio River on the Riverwalk.

‘She looked for over 8 minutes and only found a brick and 2 rocks. She never found her phone.’
Locals rushed to the comment section to express their shock and disgust at the visitor’s behavior, with one writing: ‘I live in San Antonio, I hope she saw a doctor afterwards.’
‘I would rather be phoneless than even breathe next to the SATX River walk. That is absolutely disgusting,’ another added.
‘That phone is no good anymore just buy another one,’ a third wrote.
‘I live in San Antonio, she’s not finding a damn thing in that water. It’s gone,’ a fourth added.
E. coli is a bacterium that comes from fecal matter from warm-blooded animals and can be harmful to humans.

E. coli levels typically rise after it rains and stormwater runoff carries fecal matter into nearby creeks and rivers.
The San Antonio River Authority gave the city’s rivers a D+ grade for swimming in 2022, citing E. coli contamination as the main reason.
San Antonio also has a law prohibiting swimming in the city’s parks or on city-owned public property.
The law applies to lakes, ponds, creeks, water fountains, and rivers, except for in designated swimming areas.
