It only took 11 days, but we’ve got ourselves some Ashes cricket. By gar, it’s been a minute. Can England pick themselves up off the canvas and Bazball their way back into the series after the horrors of Perth?
Will Ben Stokes ever apologise to the fine upstanding people of Queensland for not wearing a helmet on an electric scooter, and if he doesn’t, should he be deported?

Does Travis Head have another ballistic takedown in him at the top of the order? Will captain Pat pull on the whites for the hosts? What exactly will the pink ball do in the heat and humidity of BrisVegas?
The answers to all those questions, and many, many more, are mercifully almost upon us. We’ve got Tom Decent, Dan Brettig and Andrew Wu at the Gabba, myself tapping away in the Miranda bureau and every angle covered. First ball at 3pm AEDT, the toss 30 minutes or so before that, and rest assured, enough gibber to make a two-day Test feel like five. Giddy up.
