Celtic show interest in Hibs midfielder Josh Mulligan as Edinburgh club prepare to fend off bids

The 23-year-old Scot has been attracting rave reviews since joining the Edinburgh club on a free transfer from Dundee last summer.

Leeds United and Nottingham Forest have already been credited with an interest, but Hibs are in no rush to sell him.

They would prefer to wait until at least the summer to cash in on a player who is under contract with them until 2029.

Mulligan was a target for Rangers last season, but he signed a four-year deal with Hibs, who agreed a compensation package with Dundee in November.

He has quickly become a key player in David Gray’s side with a string of eye-catching displays that have earned him a call-up to the Scotland squad. Mulligan was an unused substitute in the World Cup qualifying tie at home to Belarus in October.
