Rob Reiner’s son Jake picks up coffee order in moment of normalcy… after devastating deaths of his parents
Jake Reiner allowed himself a momentary sense of normalcy following the tragic deaths of his beloved parents, Rob and Michele Reiner.
The legendary filmmaker and his wife were stabbed to death at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home. Their son Nick Reiner, 32, has been charged with their murders.
Jake has been said to be holding his family together, and has been sheltering at a Southern California beach home with his loved ones as of late.
But on Wednesday Jake ventured out for a coffee run – an everyday routine perhaps offering him a sense of solace.
The actor, 34, carried two hot beverages to go as he left a Starbucks in Los Angeles, his eyes momentarily cast downwards as he walked away from the cafe.
The Daily Mail previously reported that Jake has become the ‘glue’ holding his shellshocked family together following the devastating death of his parents.

Jake’s sister Romy was reportedly the one who discovered her father’s body on December 14, after she was called to the residence by a massage therapist who had arrived for a scheduled appointment.
She only learned that her mother was dead when paramedics arrived at around 3.30pm and broke the grim news, according to The New York Times.
Online records show the Hollywood legend and his photographer wife died on December 14, the same day they were discovered in their $13.5 million mansion.
Both of their deaths have been ruled homicides, with the place of death listed as their residence.
Nick was arrested on December 14 and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the killings of his 78-year-old father and 70-year-old mother.
Prosecutors added special circumstances of multiple murders and use of a dangerous weapon, a knife, meaning if convicted, Nick could face life in prison without the possibility of parole or even the death penalty.
The 32-year-old made a brief court appearance on December 17, wearing an anti-suicide vest, where he did not enter a plea.
His defense attorney, Alan Jackson, asked the judge for a continuance, saying that he ‘needed more time’ to prepare his case.

Nick’s arraignment has been pushed to January 7 and he is being held without bail.
In a joint statement, Jake and Romy described their ‘unimaginable pain’ and asked for ‘respect and privacy.’
‘Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day,’ they said.
‘The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience.
‘They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends. We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life.’
The two siblings are planning an upcoming memorial service expected to draw many of their famous father’s friends in the entertainment industry.
