Tom Brady desperate to hire John Harbaugh for next stage of his Las Vegas Raiders rebuild after shock Ravens firing

Tom Brady is ‘ready to pounce’ in a desperate attempt to convince John Harbaugh to become the new head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.
Harbaugh was fired by the Baltimore Ravens after 18 seasons in the biggest bombshell of the latest head coaching cycle, and every team with a vacancy is expected to hold an interest in him.
It is understood the 63-year-old is ready to take an immediate route back into the NFL, and sources close to Tom Brady have revealed to the Daily Mail that the Raiders will be at the front of the line.
‘They want to bring in John immediately,’ the source explains. ‘The Raiders knew that he or [Pittsburgh’s] Mike Tomlin were going to be likely let go after the last game of the season and now that this has happened, they are ready to pounce.
‘They are looking to have a meeting with him the moment he is ready to have a meeting. The Raiders hold the No 1 pick in the NFL Draft and Tom and Mark Davis want to put a winning team on the field.
‘They think that John would be the best available option to lead the team to a very successful future.’

Harbaugh’s agent Bryan Harlan told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Tuesday night that seven teams have already reached out about his availability, just hours after he was fired by the Ravens.
The Raiders are one, but is it interesting to note that only six teams have head coaching vacancies, hinting that a team with a head coach under contract has also expressed an interest.
Harbaugh has quickly emerged as the favorite to become the next head coach of the New York Giants, who fired Brian Daboll in season.
The Raiders, though, are unique in that they hold the No 1 draft pick, and are expected to take Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza as the new face of the franchise.
Harbaugh – the NFL Coach of the Year in 2019 – spent 18 years in Baltimore and won the Super Bowl at the end of the 2012 season.
The Ravens were one field goal away from making the playoffs this season, but a final-second miss from rookie kicker Tyler Loop sealed their fate on Sunday night.
The loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers instead ensured that it is Aaron Rodgers and Co that move on to this weekend’s Wild Card round.
The Raiders’ season, meanwhile, was over long ago, with the team finishing 3-14, still good enough for the No 1 pick despite a win over the Chiefs on Sunday.

The Raiders confirmed that they had parted ways with head coach Carroll on Monday morning
Brady and Davis fired Pete Carroll shortly after the game, another one-and-done coach in Las Vegas, and the search has already begun for his replacement.
Legendary quarterback Brady has only been a part-owner of the team since October 2024 but he is understood to hold a very important role behind the scenes.
His analyst role with Fox means that, at least publicly, he is in an advisory role, but he is expected to have a huge hand in who the franchise appoints as its next head coach.
Other than Harbaugh, the likes of Brian Flores, Kevin Stefanski, Philip Rivers and Klint Kubiak are among the favorites with betting companies.
