Resonator Awards to Honor Chaka Khan, Haim, St. Vincent and More

The Resonator Awards will return in late January in what is being billed as a “kick-off” to Grammy week, with Chaka Khan, St. Vincent and Haim among the figures being honored in a program being put on Jan. 27 at Chaplin Studios by We Are Moving the Needle, an organization devoted to increasing recognition for women and non-binary individuals in the recording industry.

Behind-the-scenes luminaries set to receive awards at the event include songwriter Amy Allen, producers Alissia and Roselilah, recording and mix engineers Jayda Love and Bella Blasko, the writer-producer duo Elvira Anderfjärd and Luka Kloser, and audio company co-founder Betty Bennett.

The evening boasts a high-profile list of presenters, with Olivia Rodrigo, Laufey, Addison Rae, Anderson .Paak, Jason Isbell, Aaron Dessner, Sia, Tony Berg and Rostam among those set to hand off awards to friends and colleagues. Performers will be announced at a later date.

This will be the second time We Are Moving the Needle has presented the Resonator Awards. The first such event was in 2024; the 2025 edition was canceled last January, along with a good number of other pre-Grammy events, in the wake of the devastating Los Angeles-area fires.

The event, which will include a seated dinner, is among the first high-profile ticketed events to take place on Chaplin Studios’ soundstage since the former A&M/Henson lot was formally rebranded by new owners John Mayer and McG.

“Empowered women empower women,” said honoree Khan in a statement. “I am honored to be part of a movement that celebrates the creativity, resilience and determination of women creators everywhere. We lift each other and shine. Together, we are moving the needle.”

We Are Moving the Needle is a 501c3 non-profit founded by Grammy-winning mastering engineer Emily Lazar, who will also be among the presenters.
