Nicola Peltz’s ex-boyfriend’s sister Alana Hadid brands her fame-hungry and says she ‘doesn’t want privacy’ as she wades into the Beckham row

Nicola Peltz’s ex-boyfriend’s sister Alana Hadid has weighed in on the explosive argument engulfing her husband Brooklyn Beckham and his family.

Brooklyn shook the showbiz world to its core on Monday, when he released a statement denouncing his family, in which he accused his mother Victoria of calling him ‘evil’ and pledged his allegience to his wife.

Alana, 40, is sister to models Gigi and Bella, their eldest sister Marielle and Anwar, 26 – who Nicola dated from 2016 to 2018, just one year before she met Brooklyn – and has insisted that the actress has ‘wanted to be famous for years’.

Despite Brooklyn’s statement calling for privacy, Alana replied to photographer Eli Rezkallah’s comment reading: ‘Ending an eight paragraph rant about his family’s dirty laundry with ‘all we want is privacy’ is all I need to know’.

Alana, whose entire family are said to have had issues with Nicola both during and after the romance, echoed comments made by many, replying to Eli: ‘Right and that girl doesn’t want privacy she’s been trying to be famous for a decade’.

Alana’s comment about Nicola comes after Nicola ’caused tensions’ in the Hadid household after Anwar stopped talking to his family while he was dating the star.

The couple dated when she was 22 and he was 17, and while there were no official reports, there were rumours at the time that Anwar grew distant from his family.

A Tweet claimed: ‘Brooklyn Beckham’s wife previously dated Anwar Hadid, and he also stopped talking to his parents. Yolanda [Anwar’s mum] said, ‘Not on my watch.”

Much like with comments about Victoria, in 2017 Nicola played happy families, saying: ‘He comes from  an amazing family. Gigi and Bella are so, so sweet. I just love his family so much. They’re feminine, strong girls. To have that around is amazing.’

Yolanda is also said to have reached out to David and Victoria amid the feud, causing fans to raise eyebrows and come up with their own theories after she suffered her own ‘strained’ relationship with Nicola during her romance with Anwar.

The bond got off to a strong start, with Nicola joining Anwar’s famous sisters on the red carpet and posing for sweet selfies with Yolanda on Instagram, while she said of Anwar: ‘We’re hanging out. Honestly, he is an angel. He’s such an amazing person.’

It initially seemed Yolanda approved of Nicola, as they posed with blue towels wrapped around their heads and hung out on a ‘rainy east coast summer day’.

However, according to the Daily Mail, relations seemingly declined over time and they were left with ‘no good feeling’ between them as Nicola proceeded to unfollow the whole family on social media.

In her latest family fall-out Nicola was at the heart of the astonishing rant the aspiring chef, 26, launched at his parents David and Victoria on Monday night.

He took to Instagram to share a six-page statement, where he said he has no wishes to reconcile with his family and is standing up for himself ‘for the first time in my life’, claiming his parents have ‘controlled narratives about our family’.

He also stated that ‘my parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship (with wife Nicola) since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped’.

Despite his explosive statement, his parents still care about Brooklyn’s future if they were to ever split, sources claim.

Nicola’s businessman and investor father Nelson Peltz, 83, is said to be worth an astonishing £1.2billion. While Brooklyn’s famous parents, former Spice Girl Victoria and footballer David, are worth an estimated £335million.

The star has quite a meaty list of famous exes, having reportedly dated co-star Brenton Thwaites in 2014, Cameron Fuller in 2015, Anwar in 2017, before she began dating LANY frontman Paul between 2018 and 2019.

It has also been claimed that she enjoyed a string of dates with Justin Bieber.

Alana’s swipe at Nicola has been echoed elsewhere, with many pointing at her lacklustre acting career as well as her string of celebrity exes.

She rose to fame for her acting with one of her biggest roles being in Transformers movie Age of Extinction while also starred in Bates Motel, the prequel to Psycho.

She confirmed on Instagram she had an integral part of new indie movie, Prima, which is in production. Sharing the new movie news, she wrote: ‘I’m truly honoured that this incredible cast and crew came together for Prima.

‘It still feels unreal that my wildest dreams came true – that these extraordinarily talented creatives joined forces to bring to life a story that first began in my dreams.’

Sources have alleged that while the Peltzs may have more money that the Beckhams, the latter’s star power is what has drawn ‘fame-hungry’ Nicola.

When previously asked about her family's reaction to fame, she said: 'My family is not in the limelight. I don't see them like that at all'

Insiders told The Daily Mail: ‘Nicola’s family are much, much richer than the Beckhams. But the Beckham are so much more famous. There isn’t a showbiz family that is anywhere near their level of fame when it comes to social media…

‘Some might be inclined to believe she uses her connections – and husband – for what she can get from them.’

When previously asked about her family’s reaction to fame, she said: ‘My family is not in the limelight. I don’t see them like that at all.’

She explained that while growing up in Westchester, just outside New York City, her family were more about school sports than stadium tours: ‘I come from a hockey family. All my brothers play hockey and my parents are, I guess, anti-Hollywood…

‘They didn’t grow up in L.A. or anything.’

Brooklyn Beckham’s statement in full

I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.

I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.

Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.

My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped. My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.

Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.

They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.

During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me ‘evil’ because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola’s Naunni at our table, because they both didn’t have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours.

The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was ‘not blood’ and ‘not family.’ Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders.

Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last Summer.

My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.

She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.

My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one. My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.

Despite this, we still travelled to London for my dad’s birthday and were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him. He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner.

When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face. Later, when my family travelled to LA, they refused to see me at all.

My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first. Family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations.

We’ve gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show ‘our perfect family.’ But the one time my wife asked for my mum’s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.

The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.

I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief. My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.’
