Kim Kardashian has swiftly shut down speculation that she and Jonathan Cheban are no longer friends, revealing the real reason why they don’t hang out as much.
If you’re a ‘yuge fan of the reality TV hot mess that’s Keeping Up With Kardashians, you would definitely remember Jonathan and all of the Kardashian drama he’s been involved with.
While he’s mostly known as Kim’s go-to confidant, one of my favourite friendship moments between him and the SKIMS founder was when they raided Khloé Kardashian‘s mega closet.
Also, he’s kinda hard to forget because — personally — he always reminded me of season one Scott Disick… maybe it’s the hair.
Anyways, in newer seasons and its reboot, The Kardashians, some fans began to speculate that a friendship breakdown between Jonathan and Kim happened off-screen as his cameos on the shows became quite scarce.
In a new episode of her sister’s podcast, Khloé In Wonder Land, Kim decided to put those friendship breakdown rumours to rest, confirming she’s still tight with the famous foodie.
“I love Jonathan, we should call him,” she said before hitting him with a FaceTime call.
Jonathan answered the call during the episode, confirming that his and Kim’s bond is still strong.
Following the call, Kim reiterated that everything was all “good” between her and Jono before explaining why they don’t hang out as much.
“Here’s the thing, I had kids,” Kim began.
“It’s really hard to maintain friendships when you have kids, and you’re like in it. Jonathan is not going to come and sit around Calabasas all day. He’s like always on the move.”
Khloé agreed with her sister’s reasoning, with Kim, adding on, “Especially when someone else doesn’t have kids. It’s not like you can do play dates with your kids. I get that — and we love Jonathan. There’s so much history there.”
A year before Kim jumped on the podcast, Jonathan himself confirmed they were still friends, telling US Weekly that he and Kim laugh at the rumours surrounding their relationship.
“People post me in things and people say that Kim and I aren’t friends anymore, and it’s so funny to watch this stuff ‘cause we are friends and we talk all the time,” he said in a March 2025 interview.
“I see all these things that pop up, and that’s how I know if I’m on [episodes of The Kardashians] or not.”
Jonathan went on to state that they’re going “to be friends forever” and that they “talk all the time”.
Unfortunately, I feel like we’ve all been in that space with our besties when life catches up. But it’s warm to know that your BFF is going to be there no matter where they are, just like Jono and Kimmie.
