Hudson Williams & Connor Storrie Named Torchbearers For The 2026 Winter Olympics

Head to the mother fucking cottage because Heated Rivalry stars Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams have been named the official torchbearers for the 2026 Winter Olympics. I guess because they’re famous for a winter sport, or something?

The actors and overnight heartthrobs will carry the Olympic flame during the torch relay of Milano Cortina 2026, which kicks off in Milan on February 6. While they made our wintery dreams come true, organisers have not yet revealed where or when Hudson and Storrie will take part.

HBO Max, which streams Heated Rivalry, made the torchbearer announcement on Instagram, saying the stars “brought the heat. Now they’re carrying the torch”. The offical TikTok page of the Milan Olympics confirmed our wildest fantasies: “IT’S REAL!”.

In a case of art imitating life, we’ve (kind of) seen this story before. In episode two of Heated Rivalry, Hudson and Storrie’s characters compete on opposing ice hockey teams at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, but we know the real-life version won’t be quite as frosty as how that episode played out.

It marks yet another instance of the breakout show making an impact on the world of sports, with multiple castmates revealing they’ve had discussions with queer and closeted hockey players about what it meant to them. One of them, Jesse Kortuem, even credited the show in a coming out post shared on social media earlier this month.

Elsewhere, fans have dissected all the show’s changes from the original book series, invested themselves in the stars’ IRL dating lives, and revelled in Hudson and Storrie’s gloriously horny press tour.

Season two is already in the works, but at least we’ll get to see the stars cozying it up in Milan next month.

Catch all the action from the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 on Nine and Stan, kicking off February 4, 2026.
