Protesters lay siege to Minnesota hotel in chaotic scene amid unrest in wake of Alex Pretti shooting

Hordes of anti-ICE protestors tried to storm a Twin Cities hotel where they suspected federal agents were staying amid heightened unrest following the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti.
The chaos unfolded outside of the Home Suites by Hilton Hotel in Minneapolis on Sunday night – just one day after 37-year-old ICU nurse Pretti was fatally shot by border patrol agents in the sanctuary city.
A jaw-dropping video from the heated demonstration showed protestors banging on garbage bins and bells. Others chanted and paced in front of the building.
Many of the mob wore masks as they loitered and caused a ruckus, which started around 9 pm.
Someone vandalized the glass window at the Hilton’s entrance, with bright red spray paint reading, ‘ICE OUT OF MPLS.’
One person pounding on a garbage pail held a sign that read: ‘No justice, no peace.’
Rioters tried to bust through the front door but were unsuccessful and continued their commotion in the street, according to The New York Post.
Frontlines Turning Point USA (TPUSA), the on-the-ground news service for the conservative nonprofit, wrote on X that the alarming scene continued for more than an hour without police intervening.
Authorities cleared out the crowd of protestors in front of the hotel on Sunday night
ICU nurse Alex Pretti was shot and killed while being detained by ICE agents on Saturday
But authorities eventually stepped in to control the crowd and dispersed the far-left protestors using flares and tear gas.
Video from the scene showed at least two people involved being escorted into custody by federal agents.
The Hilton where Sunday night’s protest occurred is located just minutes away from the campus of the University of Minnesota.
This demonstration comes after President Donald Trump weighed in on Pretti’s death.
The Daily Mail has reached out to ICE for comment.
