German bobsledder reveals her Olympic dreams are funded by OnlyFans profits: ‘That’s the downside’
Like many Olympians, German bobsledder Lisa Buckwitz is faced with the onerous task of funding much of her own training.
Unlike her Olympic comrades, though, the gold medalist has been paying those bills with her OnlyFans proceeds, without which, she may not be headed to Italy for next month’s Milan-Cortina Games.
‘It’s a stroke of luck for me, as it allows me to finance my team,’ she told German outlet Bild. ‘It’s the best thing that could have happened to me.
‘It’s a bit sad that I can’t just focus on my competitive sport,’ she added. ‘Sure, I’m an Olympic champion. But nobody’s interested in Lisa Buckwitz just because of the gold medal. That’s unfortunately the downside.’
But while she does see her desperate need for funding as unfortunate, the 31-year-old Berlin native doesn’t see her relationship with the racy subscription-based website as bizarre.
‘For me, it’s a sponsor that, alongside my service in the German Armed Forces, makes the sport possible. So something completely normal.’

Interestingly, the German armed forces known as the Bundeswehr help around 850 Olympians pay for their training, according to multiple reports.
Although Buckwitz has posed nude for Playboy in Germany, but has no plans to get entirely nude on her OnlyFans page.
Instead, Buckwitz explained, she hopes her OnlyFans page can offer a behind-the-scenes look at her preparation for the Olympics, while offering a tasteful amount of skin to her fans along the way.
‘This partnership is all about sharing the heart and hustle behind my bobsleigh journey — showing you the grit, the goals, and everything in between,’ she wrote on Instagram in 2024 as she launched her OF page. ‘From intense training days to the exhilaration on race day, I’m inviting you behind the scenes to experience what it truly takes to push limits at the highest level.’

Subscriptions range in price from $59.98 for three months, to $97.46 for six months and $194.92 for a full year.
Buckwitz previously revealed a bobsled season can cost around $60,000, much of which comes from travel and equipment expenses.
She has been a success in the two-woman event, winning gold at the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics. She failed to medal four years later in Beijing, where she finished fourth.
