After struggling his way through the NFL playoffs – including a poor performance in Super Bowl LX – New England Patriots starting left tackle Will Campbell revealed that he had torn a ligament in his knee.
Campbell suffered the injury toward the end of the 2025 season and was on the injured reserve list for a few weeks.
He had a strong start to his rookie season, but the injury de-railed his progress. When Campbell was healthy enough to return, he got back on the field.
But that meant that he didn’t play at perfect health for the rest of the season – leading to some clear issues trying to protect quarterback Drake Maye.
‘It obviously wasn’t 100%,’ said Campbell. ‘I mean, I don’t think when you tear a ligament in your knee, it’s not not going to be how it was before but I was healthy enough to go.
‘I’m not going to say that it held me back, but yeah, it wasn’t the same as it was before, obviously. But I was good.’
