Fans React To Rachel’s Rejection From Steve

Uh oh. It appears that Married At First Sight‘s (MAFS) intimacy week has thrown a spanner into the works for one of this year’s wholesome couples, Rachel Gilmore and Steven Danyluk.

This article contains Married At First Sight spoilers. You can choose to stay or leave.

While revelations week was like last week, it looks like intimacy has raised some revelations between Steven and Rachel.

You see, during the season’s first commitment ceremony, Rachen and Steven seemed to be going strong, with the pair both choosing to stay in the experiment.

Although things seemed to be A-OK, during the first sesh of intimacy week, hosted by sexologist Alessandra Rampolla, Rachel raised concerns over the lack of passion in her marriage with Steven.

So, like clockwork, after the steamy sesh was done, Alessandra tasked the brides with an ultimate fantasy night, which would help them get a smexy push in intimacy.

While a majority of brides decided on something risque — think lingerie, kisses and all that jazz — Rachy decided to go down the wholesome, asking Steven for a cheeky kiss.

While the scene was quite romantic, shit hit the fan when Steven admitted that he wasn’t sure if his kiss would “make [her] feel something”.

He then admitted he felt more platonic with Rachel rather than romantic, even sharing all the sweet things he thought about her, like her eyes, and laugh — yeah, I’m feeling some type of way cause I’VE BEEN THERE DONE THAT.

Steve’s brutal honesty obviously upsets Rachel, who pleads with him to tell her why.

He then explained that he felt like they were “roommates” rather than hubby and wifey.

In response, Rachel claps back, saying she felt like poop because he’s been “holding back” and that their relationship’s progression has been on “his time”.

“It’s a slap in the face,” Rachel said before asking if he had any “physical attraction to her”.

“There’s more to it than a yes or no answer,” Steven said, frustrating Rachel.

Unfortunately, at the end of it all, Rachel asked for space from Steven, hinting at the end of their marriage.

“I don’t deserve this,” Rachel said as she ran out of the hotel room.

Fans react to Rachel and Steven’s intimacy week

While the scene was sad, some MAFS viewers were left divided on what happened between Rachel and Steven.

However, lots of punters also called Steven out for how he handled the situation.

Ugh, my heart truly hurts for Rachel. But at least Steven got the truth out now rather than other grooms who’ve played their brides (and the audiences) like the fiddle… *cough* Dave *cough*.
