The television personality, who appeared in the Freeform reality series Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise in 2024, died February 11.
News of Lacelle’s death was announced on Instagram.
‘It is with profound sadness that we share the news that our beloved Cass has passed after her short but incredibly courageous battle with cancer,’ a statement read.
‘Cass leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured. She is the definition of memorable; in just 34 years, she made an extraordinary impact on everyone who crossed her path.
‘She taught us that life is precious, meant to be embraced wholeheartedly and never wasted. Boredom was her biggest enemy.
‘Cass had a rare gift for making people feel truly alive and bringing everyone together, she was the glue.’
Lacelle revealed in May 2025 that she had been diagnosed with Mucinous adenocarcinoma, a rare form of cancer that developed a tumor in her left ovary.

Last summer, she underwent emergency surgery to remove the tumor and completed three rounds of chemotherapy.
In January, however, Lacelle shared that her cancer had metastasized to her liver, stomach, abdominal lining and omentum, causing her nausea and significant pain.
‘Some days are better than others but there hasn’t been a pain free day for me since mid-November,’ she said.
She added that the side effects from the cancer drugs caused her to feel ‘loopy’ and would tire her out.
‘Due to the side effects of chemo and pain management I am often unable to respond but please know how much I appreciate your love,’ Lacelle wrote.
She added that she would be in hospital for ‘the foreseeable future’ after being admitted on December 6.
Her first round of biweekly chemotherapy began on December 24.
Messages of condolences have poured in following news of Lacelle’s death, including a public tribute from her mother, Tammy.
