DON’T know about you but I’m ready to shrug off my winter clothing. I’ve had enough of dressing in dark tones and have even bid farewell to my berry manicure for a fresh milky pink instead.

So, I couldn’t be happier to see the new season starting to drop into stores. Now I’ve never been a fan of pastels as they don’t suit me, but there’s something about a soft powder blue that feels different to a candy pink or lilac.

It looks more grown-up, is far easier to wear and mixes into your wardrobe well. It was one of the hero hues at last April’s Chanel Cruise 2026 show and celebrities have fallen for the colour, too. Remember Jessie Buckley in a breathtaking baby blue Dior gown, picking up Best Actress for Hamnet at the Golden Globes?

Let’s start with knitwear. With temperatures still on the chilly side, we can’t ditch it entirely, but rather than reaching for beige opt for a cool blue instead. The chunky cardigan from Jigsaw with statement buttons is far more fashion-forward in this colour. Layer over a white tee for a smart casual look. For the perfect shirt that will take you from desk to dinner, With Nothing Underneath is the only place to look. Its boyfriend style in sky blue with exaggerated contrasting white cuffs and collar looks just as good worn with tailored trousers as it does with jeans. It’s a classic style that will live in your wardrobe for years. If you prefer a blouse, the & Other Stories gathered collar option is a great way to get the Chloe look without forking out thousands.

Perhaps you want a pale trouser but feel cream is a little risky at this rainy time of year? Light blue is the perfect alternative and these softly tailored trousers from Frame will be a hard working separate that can be styled with different colours depending on the season (navy in winter and cream in summer). If you love a power suit, on the other hand, this set from Reiss is the epitome of modern elegance. When it comes to bags, it’s easy to stick with reliable and classic black but it can look heavy with lighter-coloured ensembles. Blue, however, is equally timeless and feels very 2026. This sky-blue tote bag from Aspinal of London is an ideal size for everyday wear and lifts an outfit in one fell swoop. While the ice-blue clutch from Kaai will go with every colour, from chocolate brown to more spring-like shades.
