Harry Styles: musician, actor, business founder and… marathoner?
During his time away from the spotlight, the hearthrob singer ran both the Tokyo and Berlin marathons at an impressive sub-three-hour pace — during which eagle-eyed fans (and The New York Times) were quick to notice his running shoe of choice: Nike’s Alphafly 3. So, it make sense that for a new cover story in Runners World, Styles turned to back to the Swoosh in a pair of Nike Revolution 8s. Styles also donned Oakley’s Cybr Zero Sunglasses and Radar Plate Sunglasses for the shoot, alongside Calzedonia socks and several variations of vintage shorts sourced on eBay.
For the cover story, Styles talks with famed Japanese novelist Haruki Murakami, who also happens to be the author of “What I Talk about When I Talk about Running,” a novel that Styles says made him believe he could run a marathon. The pair leave nothing on the table, discussing everything from music to fame to touring, and, of course, running. On running, Styles notes that the simplicity is appealing. “That’s what I love about it,” he says. “You don’t need anything, just a pair of shoes.”
While Nike is his activewear brand of choice, we know Styles has long been loyal to Adidas: the singer is credited with sparking the revival of the brand’s Gazelle sneaker during his “Love on Tour” throughout 2022.
Now, fans await Styles’ highly anticipated fourth studio album, “Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally,” set to be released this Friday. Styles is set to take the stage at Manchester’s Co-op Live on Friday following the release of his album, before performing double duty on SNL on March 14. In May, he’ll kick off his “Together, Together” tour in Amsterdam, then traverse through London, São Paulo, and Mexico City, and a 30-show stint in New York City before ending in Australia. While his tour looks remain a secret, his style is expected to be a cornerstone of the year.
