A Bunch Of Celeb Stylists Are Dragging Rachel Zoe After She Called Out Their ‘Betrayal’

A bunch of famous stylists, led by Brad Goreski, are going in on Rachel Zoe on social media, in response to the designer and reality star’s shady comments in Interview Magazine.

It all went down when Zoe — a celeb stylist in her own right with a starry client list including Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lawrence and Cameron Diaz — sat down for an interview with the outlet which was published on Thursday.

What did Rachel Zoe say about her assistants?

When asked about her long list of former assistants, which includes Goreski, Zoe had some choice words. “Triggering,” Zoe said of her assistants.

“I’ve had the best in the world who are like family, but it also goes the other way. There’s betrayal and dishonesty and all the things. It’s the hardest job to fill, always,” she added.

If you recall, Goreski was Zoe’s assistant for two years back in 2008, and he appeared alongside her in the early seasons of the Bravo reality show, The Rachel Zoe Project

Goreski went on to pursue his own career in styling, and now counts Demi Moore, Kaley Cuoco and Rashida Jones among his own celeb clients.

What did Brad Goreski say about Rachel Zoe?

This fraught history (more on that later) was apparently at play this morning, when Goreski was reacting to Zoe’s comments in response to her Interview Magazine cover.

“Triggering for the assistants as well,” Goreski wrote in the comments section.

Goreski then name-checked a bunch of Zoe’s former assistants, including Jill Lincoln, Jordan Johnson, and Taylor Jacobson.

Johnson even got in on the mess herself, replying “accurate” to Goreski’s comment, while stylist Nicky Campbell commented a crying face emoji.

It naturally begs the question, what happened between Zoe and her stylists, and what reactivated this feud?

Rachel Zoe and her feud with her assistants, explained

Fans of The Rachel Zoe Project will know her beef with Goreski spans a decade. After quitting as her assistant to pursue his own career after season two, Zoe kickstarted the feud by claiming in a 2011 episode that Goreski stole her styling clients.

“He started [to] pursue our clients, started going to all these events, and doing all the things he said he had no interest in,” Zoe said. “It’s not the first time I’ve been used.”

Goreski denied stealing any clients as their friendship remained estranged for multiple years. In 2012, Goreski said he and Zoe “don’t speak to each other”, and he doubled-down the following year by reiterating he was “happy to be on my own”.

In amongst all this mess was Jacobson, who also caught strays on The Rachel Zoe Project after leaving Zoe’s employ at around the same time as Goreski.

“I am not into this drama. I dealt with four years of drama,” Jacobson said in response to the feud. “From what I understand, it was a whole shit-talking campaign.”

By 2015, news broke that Zoe had parted ways with Lincoln and Johnson, who went on to create their own styling company.

While all parties wished each other luck on their separate endeavours in public, Johnson’s recent reply to Goreski’s comment suggests something happened between her and Zoe behind the scenes.

Zoe has continued discussing the fall outs in the media amid renewed attention as a castmate on the current season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. In January, she said she stepped away from styling because she’d been “betrayed” by too many assistants.

“In full disclosure, I just couldn’t trust assistants,” Zoe told PEOPLE

“I think after being completely betrayed, for lack of a better term, in various ways, by enough assistants and not being able to trust them with my clients and stuff to represent what I do and how I am with my clients, it just wasn’t worth it anymore.”

That was the latest insight we had into the feud before Goreski’s comment today, but something tells me this won’t be the last we’ll hear of all the celeb stylist in-fighting.

If we’re lucky, it might even play out on Bravo, so let’s just go right ahead and get Andy Cohen and a camera.
