Lana Condor To Appear In Season 3 Of ‘XO, Kitty’ As Lara Jean Song Covey

XO, Kitty Season 3 will return to its roots in a big way, with Lana Condor reprising her role as Kitty’s older sister, Lara Jean Song Covey, star of Netflix’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before film trilogy based on the best-selling books by Jenny Han.

Katherine ‘Kitty’ Song Covey (Anna Cathcart) appeared in the three films before getting her own spinoff show in which she takes center stage and moves to South Korea for a yearlong study abroad program. It was Kitty who mailed out Lara Jean’s secret love letters, each addressed to a boy she had a crush on, which eventually landed her with Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo) across the three films. Thanks to that instance, Kitty now sees herself as a matchmaker.

In Season 2 of XO, KittyCentineo made a cameo in the sixth episode to deliver Kitty some letters between her family members. He had some fun interactions with Minho (Sang Heon Lee), and he pointed out to Kitty some signs that Minho might have feelings for her. Season 2 also contained some callbacks to major moments in To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. In the finale of Season 2, Janel Parrish reprised her role of Margot Song Covey in a sweet reunion of Kitty and Margot’s grandmother with her sister in South Korea. It is only right that Condor will return as, arguably, the sister who started it all, though Kitty played a major role in her middle sister’s love story.

The third installment of the spinoff series will see Kitty return for her final year at KISS, senior year for her friend group. She hopes to make many memories in her during her time left in Seoul, but surprises, new characters and more will challenge her mapped out, ideal final semesters as well as her relationships, including her budding romance with Minho.

The cast of XO, Kitty also includes Minyeong Choi (Dae), Gia Kim (Yuri), Anthony Keyvan (Q), Regan Aliyah (Juliana), Sule Thelwell (Marius), Hojo Shin (Jiwon), Peter Thurnwald (Alex), Joshua Lee (Jin), Sasha Bhasin (Praveena), Michael K. Lee (Professor LeerM), Philippe Moon), Jocelyn Shelfo (Madison), Han Bi Ryu (Eunice), Sunny Oh (Mihee), Soy Kim (Yisoo) and Christine Heesun Hwang (Gigi).

Consisting of eight 30-minute episodes, Season 3 will land on Netflix April 2. Valentina Garza serves as showrunner, writer and executive producer on Season 3. Author Jenny Han created and executive produces the series alongside Matt Kaplan of ACE Entertainment and Bradley Gardner.
