NBA great Dwight Howard files for divorce from wife after she makes explosive claims about his daughter

Former NBA superstar Dwight Howard has filed for divorce from his wife, Amber Howard, just hours after she leveled a series of bombshell accusations against him.
The eight-time All-Star submitted the legal filing on Monday, according to court documents obtained by TMZ, marking the second time the couple has headed for a split.
In the filing, Howard describes the marriage as ‘irretrievably broken’.
The legal move follows a weekend of social media chaos initiated by Amber, who is widely known as Amy Luciani, after she made claims against Howard online.
In an Instagram video, Amber claimed that Child Protective Services (CPS) had taken his daughter, though those claims have not yet been confirmed.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Howard’s representatives for comment.

The filing on Monday marks a swift breakdown for the couple, who only went public with their relationship in December 2024 before marrying in January 2025.
Amber previously filed for divorce in July 2025, just six months into the marriage, before the couple eventually called it off and reconciled months later.
Within the new documents, Howard noted that the couple has no children together and requested that the court grant him sole access to the marital property.
Back in December 2024, Amber shared a video of the former Orlando Magic poster boy admiring her diamond engagement ring at a club and explained how they kept their relationship under the radar for some time.
‘I was enjoying you so much out of the public eye but here we are,’ Luciani captioned.
‘Thank you for bringing me back to the word. Anything I say or fuss about, first thing you say is ‘Did you pray about it?’ Then I realized I hadn’t being praying much lately at all. I’m just thankful, happy and ready for everything that’s coming our way.
‘I prayed reallllll deep on a Thursday not knowing 2 days later God would send me a Bible totin, tattooed giant with the same heart as me. Thank you.’
The eight-time NBA all-star took to the comments with an infinity emoji, a red heart emoji, and a lock and key emoji.
