Our beauty favourites from March

March is the first ‘real’ month of the year, as far as I’m concerned. Summer is over, work ramps up and that big holiday energy fades away. But it’s also the perfect time to re-think your routine and rituals (and if you are in the southern hemisphere, wind down for the quiet season ahead).

Fortunately the best new beauty launches this March reflect the feeling – nutritionally dense face oil, grown-up French vanilla in candle form, easy salt spray, foolproof eyeshadow and overnight body retinol.

TWYG Renewing Antioxidant Facial Oil

TWYG is a New Zealand based skincare brand focused on the key ingredient totarol, an extract from the Tōtara tree (TWYG sustainably source from already fallen trees). It has potent antioxidant properties, and is proven to reduce free radical damage for youthful, healthy-looking skin. The Antioxidant Facial Oil is a one-and-done product for glow. It’s loaded with vitamin C (thanks to the totarol), squalane, kakadu plum, bakuchiol and plant oils for antioxidants, moisture and lightweight nourishment. TWYG Skincare has launched in Australia just this week, so now is the perfect time to try the brand.

Jean Paul Gaultier Gaultier Divine Couture

This scent is bold and daring with juicy notes of raspberry, meringue and a deliciously warm benzoin base. The bottle is also an iconic reinterpretation of the very famous JPG female corset. The perfect fragrance to get you noticed.

Kerastase Gloss Absolu Frizz-Glaze Gloss Creme

The newest formula in the viral Gloss Absolu range is the Frizz Glaze Cream. Milky and softening, it imparts  lightweight moisture into damp hair ensuring a smooth, glassy finish. The perfect blow dry companion.

Westman Atelier Hydrobalm Tinted Lipstick

Gucci Westman knows her way around an incredible lip product and this one is no different. Instead of the classic matte texture the original formula is known for, this has a hydrating sheen – plus moisture in spades. The perfect everyday lip product.

Fara Homidi Beauty Essential Eye Compact

Finally, Fara Homidi has landed in Australia (we owe you, Mecca). Our pick is the Essential Eye Compact, complete with two deliciously neutral browns and a very fun blue that is surprisingly wearable. Into the cart it goes.

Osea Dream Bio Retinol Body Serum

Osea is one of the most undercover but incredible body care brands in the game. This new retinol formula is like an overnight deep treatment for your skin with algae-dervied retinol, magnesium and lavender. A dream.

David Mallet Australian Salt Spray

David Mallet is one of the world’s most sought-after hair stylists. Originally from Perth, he now has salons in Paris and New York but luckily for us, the products just landed locally. The Salt Spray affords piecey texture without crunch or grit.

Summer Fridays Flushed Lip Stain

This lip stain is so impressive, especially when it comes to longevity. It’s quite pigmented, but the colour will outlast eating, drinking, talking, kissing… you name it. Plus, it’s weightless so perfect if you want to apply something once and forget it’s there (but be pleasantly surprised when you catch your reflection.

Prada Reflection Glossy Liquid Balm

This is thick, rich and reflective – all the things a good lip gloss should be. Also, the packaging is divine. But did we expect anything less from Prada?

Maison Louise Marie No.15 Vanille Infinie Candle

If you want your space to smell cosy and warm but not like dessert, you’ll consider Maison Louise Marie’s take on vanilla is perfection. It’s creamy and grounded, thanks to grown up notes of cashmere, oud and jasmine.

La Prairie White Caviar Eye Serum

Purveyors of luxury will enjoy La Prairie’s White Caviar Eye Serum. Despite its fluid texture, it has an emollient feeling that instantly plumps and brightens the eye contour, while working long-term to illuminate the skin. Aside from the brand’s signature caviar extract, there’s also niacinamide, glycoproteins and plant extracts.
