Adam Hyde — famously known as Keli Holiday — has revealed that online hate has manifested into real-life death threats, bashing threats and homophobic slurs.
Taking to his beloved’s podcast, Abbie Chatfield‘s It’s A Lot, the ARIA Award-winning artist opened up about an incident in which he encountered a “convoy of incels” in public.
Why? All because of his relationship with the Australian entertainment juggernaut, who is also an advocate for women’s and human rights.
“It’s kind of hit a boiling point now where I feel the need to address it,” Hyde began before revealing that he’s been threatened twice “with violence” in the last week and a half.

The first incident, according to Hyde, took place at about 7.30am when he was walking down the street, only a block from their house.
“One car came past and I kinda just heard yelling, and they were screaming homophobic slurs,” Hyde said.
“Really, really bad words mixed with death threats, bashing threats, all in one. It was a full car.
“I was looking at it, and one of the dude’s had his phone out, and I was staring, like I was confused, first and foremost, and I looked around, and I was the only one on the street.”
Hyde went on to reveal that a second car followed the first one, with more people doing the same thing. Chatfield described the act as a “convoy of incels”.
“They keep circling around, and they’re like ‘yeah, yeah, yeah’ — they’re going, ‘We’re gonna bash you, you f-bomb’ — one of them said ‘We’re gonna kill you’,” Hyde revealed, adding that they called him “Peking Cuck”.
He then revealed that a second incident occurred on the morning of Triple J’s Hottest 100, in which his track “Dancing2” reached number two on the list.
Chatfield and Hyde went on to express their confusion with threats being made against them for simply loving loudly.
“A few words online, then leads to this? For what? Because I love my girlfriend,” Hyde said.
“Honestly, tell me why you got hate for me. Give me one good reason. It doesn’t make any sense.”
Chatfield went on to label these physical threats as a “crime” and “hate speech”, and that they’re both disturbed by these incidents.

This isn’t the first time the dynamic duo have opened up about the trolls who hate on their relationship. Speaking to PEDESTRIAN.TV on the 2025 ARIA Awards red carpet, Hyde said he found the hate “hilarious”
“If I were to write something on someone’s video that I don’t know, telling them they suck, I’d turn around and look at myself in the mirror and cry,” Keli said.
“Maybe they’re doing that, maybe they’re not, but I think it’s sad, and they can do it if they want to. I don’t really give a shit.”
Chatfield and Hyde went public with their relationship back in 2024, and since then, the pair have shared a lot of content surrounding their relationship.
The pair have also appeared together at multiple events, including the 2025 ARIA Awards and the premiere of the Golden Bachelor, in which Chatfield’s mother took a shot at love with Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden.
