Air Canada plane crashes into fire truck at New York’s LaGuardia Airport
An Air Canada Express plane has collided with a fire truck after landing at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, with U.S. media reporting that at least four firefighters are critically injured.
The CRJ-900 aircraft was arriving from Montreal with nearly 100 passengers when it struck the vehicle at a speed of about 24 mph (39 km/h), Flightradar24 said.
All flights at the airport have been stopped until 1.30am EST, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said.
It said the closure was due to an emergency and that there was a “high” likelihood that the order would be extended.
The jet was operated by Jazz Aviation, Air Canada’s regional partner.
