Amy Schumer has confirmed she and her husband, chef Chris Fischer, are ending their marriage after more than seven years together.

The comedian shared the news in a very Amy way on Instagram, pairing a major life update with a subway family snap and a caption that swung between heartfelt and deliberately chaotic.
“Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after seven years,” she wrote, alongside a photo of herself, Fischer and their son on the New York City subway.
The caption also referenced recent chatter about her weight loss and Fischer’s career, shutting down the idea that either had anything to do with their decision to split.
“We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time. blah blah blah not becisse (sic) I dropped some lbs and thought I could bag s basket and not because he’s a hot Janlmes beard award winning chef who can still pull some hot tail. Amicable and all love and respect! Family forever.”
A source close to the pair told PEOPLE there is “nothing ugly” about the breakup and described it as “a cohesive split”, adding that they had just been finalising a few things.
The couple were first romantically linked in 2017 and married in February 2018, later welcoming their son Gene in May 2019. In recent weeks, fans had speculated about the state of the relationship, with a source saying in November that they were privately working through “normal issues that couples in long-term marriages have” and that both were committed to the relationship at the time.
Schumer had also addressed the rumours herself. On November 6 2025, she noted in an Instagram Story that “Chris and I are still married”, and on December 1 2025 she told followers that “whatever ends up happening with me and Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism”, before adding, “Fingers crossed we make it through. He’s the best.”
Amy has talked openly about Chris’s autism diagnosis and her use of Mounjaro for weight loss.
Earlier in November, she wiped her old Instagram photos — including those of Fischer — and joked in a new post, “Deleted my old pics for no reason!”
The pair were last photographed together at an industry event in June, attending a 2025 Tribeca Film Festival premiere of the documentary Room To Move.
