San Francisco Giants outfielder Jung-Hoo Lee was detained by immigration officers at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday.
Lee was returning from his native South Korea ahead of an appearance at the Giants’ annual Fan Fest this weekend.
The star’s agent, Scott Boras, told the San Francisco Chronicle that Lee was held to resolve an issue with his paperwork.
After roughly an hour of detainment, Lee was eventually released from custody.
Boras remarked that the incident was ‘not anything political.’
Spokespeople for Rep. Nancy Pelosi – the Congresswoman from San Francisco – said her office was working to resolve the issue while consulting with the Giants, partners in congress and other federal officials.
