Bill Gates is all smiles at the Australian Open after his FURIOUS response to Epstein files claim he slept with Russian ‘girls’

Bill Gates has been seen grinning at the Australian Open after issuing a furious denial of accusations made about him in the newly released Epstein files.

Jeffrey Epstein made the astonishing claims about the Microsoft billionaire in an email drafted for someone else on July 18, 2013.

It was among the hundreds of thousands of Epstein files released by the US Department of Justice on Friday morning.

The email included claims that Gates had asked one of Epstein’s advisers to provide medicine to treat sexually transmitted diseases as a result of ‘sex with Russian girls’.

But, in a rare statement that clearly conveys the depths of his anger over the latest Epstein files release, a spokesperson for the Microsoft billionaire refuted the allegations.

‘These claims are absolutely absurd and completely false,’ they told the Daily Mail, and it is not suggested otherwise.

‘The only thing these documents demonstrate is Epstein’s frustration that he did not have an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to entrap and defame.’

On Saturday, Gates was then spotted smiling alongside girlfriend Paula Hurd watching the men’s doubles final during the 2026 Australian Open in Melbourne.

The couple could be seen chatting and grinning as they watched Australians Jason Kubler and Marc Polmans face American Christian Harrison and Great Britain’s Neal Skupski.

The release of files on Friday also included multiple new undated images of Epstein and Gates together in various locations.

Gates has previously said he regrets his friendship with the late paedophile, who died in a New York City jail in 2019, but has long denied any impropriety.

Over the years, Gates has sought to downplay his years-long relationship with Epstein, claiming the pair did not have a ‘business relationship or friendship’ and alleging all of their meetings were in group settings.

He also previously denied attending any of Epstein’s parties or going to his various residences.

The allegations were outlined in a shocking email that appeared to be a draft of a letter intended to be sent by Gates’ then-top advisor Boris Nikolic, around his resignation from the Microsoft billionaire’s charitable foundation.

The lengthy message lashed out at Gates for ending their friendship and says: ‘TO add insult to the injury you them (sic) implore me to please delete the emails regarding your std, your request that I provide you antibiotics that you can surreptitiously give to Melinda and the description of your penis.’

Earlier in the same missive, Epstein said he had been ‘dismayed beyond comprehension’ by Gates’s decision to ‘disregard our friendship developed over the last 6 years.’

Appearing to write from the point of view of Nikolic, another email on the same morning offered his resignation from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

He wrote: ‘I have been caught up in a severe marital dispute between Melinda and Bill…

‘In my role as his right hand man I have been asked and wrongly acquiesced into participating in things that have ranged from the morally inappropriate, to the ethically unsound and have been repeatedly asked to do thing (sic) that get near and potentially over the line into the illegal…

‘From helping Bill to get drugs, in order to deal with consequences of sex with russian girls, to facilitating his illicit trusts, with married women, to being asked to provide adderall fro (sic) bridge touramnts (sic), as I am a medical doctor, but have no presriptions (sic) writing ability.’

Gates and Melinda were married between 1994 and 2021. Melinda, who is now a philanthropist, cited Gates’s affairs and friendship with Epstein as reasons for the divorce, but did not divulge further details.

Melinda reportedly hired lawyers to plan her split from Gates in 2019, after reports emerged about his repeated meetings with Epstein contrary to the Microsoft founder’s previous public denials.

She retained counsel after becoming concerned about her husband’s alleged business dealings with the paedophile financier, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Epstein killed himself in a New York jail cell in August 2019, a month after he was indicted on federal sex trafficking charges.

In 2008 and 2009, Epstein served jail time in Florida after pleading guilty to soliciting prostitution from someone under the age of 18.

At the time, investigators had gathered evidence that Epstein had sexually abused underage girls at his home in Palm Beach, but the US attorney’s office agreed not to prosecute him in exchange for his guilty plea to lesser state charges.

A federal jury in New York convicted Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell of sex trafficking for helping recruit some of his underage victims in 2021.

She is serving a 20-year prison sentence at a prison camp in Texas, after being moved there from a federal prison in Florida. She denies any wrongdoing.

Prosecutors never charged anyone else in connection with Epstein’s abuse of girls, but one of his victims, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, accused him in lawsuits of having arranged for her to have sexual encounters at age 17 and 18 with numerous politicians, business titans, noted academics and others, all of whom denied her allegations.

Among the people she accused was ex-Prince Andrew, the British royal who lost his title over his close relationship with Epstein and allegations that he had sex with Giuffre. Andrew has long denied those allegations.

Giuffre died by suicide in 2025.
