Caitlin Clark reveals idol Taylor Swift’s most striking trait after watching a Chiefs game with Eras Tour star

Caitlin Clark has opened up on her viral encounter with Taylor Swift after sitting together at a Kansas City Chiefs game earlier this year – insisting she was one of the ‘sweetest’ people she’s ever met.

The women’s basketball sensation joined Swift in her private suite at Arrowhead Stadium on January 18 as Travis Kelce and the Chiefs locked horns with the Houston Texans in the NFL playoffs.

The sight of the pair sitting together sparked a frenzy on social media, with fans desperate to know what they were speaking about during the game.

And four months on from that famous moment, Clark has revealed her and Swift simply discussed what every normal person does at an NFL game – the football.

‘I think what people don’t always realize about people with a certain spotlight, whether it’s her, whether it’s me, whether it’s another professional athlete or a pop star, we’re real people,’ she told ESPN about her interaction with the pop megastar.

‘We’re just having normal conversations as any other person in Arrowhead Stadium that night. She loves the Chiefs just as much as I do. I’m talking football with her.

‘She loved it, and just like her passion, and honestly, probably one of the sweetest people I’ve ever been around. And everybody says that when you meet her, but it’s really true.

‘She just treats everybody with the same amount of kindness, and her family was great.’

Caitlin and Taylor could be seen celebrating wildly together on the night when the latter’s boyfriend Travis reeled in a Patrick Mahomes pass to score a crucial touchdown against the Texans.

The duo were filmed hugging and high-fiving in celebration in their suite as Kelce made sure a tense game ended in celebration for his star-studded fans.

Clark, who is a Chiefs fan and a Swiftie, has previously gushed over her link-up with the Eras Tour star, giving similar comments about her down-to-earth nature on the ‘Swarmcast’ podcast days after the event.

‘Taylor is very sweet and very kind, and it’s just a good reminder that people in our position … we are very normal,’ the Indiana Fever hero said in late January.

‘Sometimes our lives aren’t normal, but we are very normal people, and we enjoy doing fun things, too.’

She also admitted to feeling a little star-struck by the 14-time Grammy Award winner but insisted that Swift’s love for Chiefs Kingdom is genuine.

‘Taylor is probably the most famous person in the world right now with what she has been able to do over the course of he last couple of years,’ Clark continued. ‘Obviously her tour has been tremendous but the way she has been able to unite people I think has been the most powerful thing.

‘It’s just cute to see how excited she is for the Chiefs and getting to share that I was like. “oh my god she loves this, she loves the Chiefs as much as me, this is incredible.”

‘We had so much fun and honestly it was the perfect game. The Chiefs won, it was close at halftime, Travis scores a huge touchdown for the Chiefs, we ended up winning. There was nothing crazy that happened and we felt confident as it got to the end. It ended up being a perfect game.

‘I was a little nervous because the last time I Went to Arrowhead we lost – I was like I don’t want to be a bad luck charm but it’s all good, we figured it out and I am allowed back.’
