
A female constable has been trapped inside a police car which smashed into a home in western Sydney.
The vehicle was responding to an urgent incident under lights and sirens when it collided with a Mitsubishi SUV on Bungarribee Road in Blacktown on Tuesday.
It is understood the car then ploughed through a fence and into the side of the property about 3pm.
In aerial footage obtained by the 7News helicopter, the police car’s bonnet was crumpled and a window appeared to be smashed.
The vehicle was also surrounded by debris.
About a dozen police officers and firefighters could be seen crowding the car.
A female constable, who was a passenger, was trapped inside the vehicle. The male constable behind the wheel suffered minor injuries.
The 30-year-old man who was driving the Mitsubishi has assisted police with their inquiries.
