Chappell Roan Stands Firm On Her Side Of Hotel Incident As Wild Security Guard Theory Emerges

Chappell Roan has doubled down on her side of the story after her security guard was accused of acting “aggressively” towards an 11-year-old fan.
The fiasco kicked off earlier this week when Brazilian footballer Jorginho Frello shared an Instagram Story alleging a member of Roan’s security team reprimanded his stepdaughter and left her “extremely shaken” at a hotel after she approached the singer’s table.
Roan already addressed the situation on her social media, saying she “didn’t see a mother and a child” and that “no one came up to” her at the hotel, but she reiterated that message in a new statement via her representative.
“Chappell was not aware of any interaction between this mother/daughter and a third-party security office,” the rep told the Daily Mail. “She did not see them at breakfast in her hotel. She did not direct her personal security or anyone on her team to interact with them.”

The rep went on to say Roan — who has been clear about her boundaries with fans and the media — holds her “teams to the highest standards and has zero tolerance for any kind of aggressive behaviour towards her or her fans”.
It’s the latest update in a story that gained major traction on social media, with Frello’s wife, Catherine Harding, somewhat backtracking on the claims in an Instagram clip saying she “didn’t know” if it was a member of Roan’s personal security who approached her child.
“You have a responsibility when you are a celebrity to make sure that the people that work for you and that act on your behalf are acting on your behalf,” Harding said. Later, Rio de Janeiro’s mayor Eduardo Cavaliere declared on X that Roan “will never perform” at the city’s music festivals.
Into all this mess dropped a Daily Mail report that Kim Kardashian’s former security head, Pascal Duvier, was the guard who confronted the child at Roan’s hotel. If you recall, Duvier was in charge of Kardashian’s security at the time of her Paris jewellery heist in 2016.
Duvier was later sued by Kardashian’s insurance company in relation to the robbery before settling the case in 2020, but if reports claiming he was behind the Roan hotel incident are true, he’s now dealing with a whole other scandal.
All of it comes after a series of incidents in which Roan has snapped at photographers and called out parasocial fans. As for what to make of all this? I’m not too sure, but at least TikTok got a kick out of it with some truly hilarious memes.
